My salt cellar entitled "intorqueo" has been selected to go on display at the Goldsmiths Company's Spring Exhibition along with the original 2d design entry for a salt + pepper set.
The design, inspired by twisting forms found within nature and geometry, was produced using CAD and RP technology and cast in 18ct yellow gold and sterling silver. It was hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office.
Many thanks go to Weston Beamor/Domino who liked the design enough to sponsor the metal, RP and casting costs. Without this help it would not have been produced. Once the exhibition is over the piece will be on display on the Weston Beamor Stand to showcase their casting and rapid prototyping services.
The exhibition is open from March 30 to April 25, 2009 and admission is free.
